Publicly Ridicule the Misspellers….Jim Carrey…and I Weep For Mankind
From Kurt…
Jim Carrey Movies -
Congrats to Jim Carrey and his latest #1 movie…”The Christmas Carol”…but from what I’ve heard, the movie isn’t very good. I’m a huge Jim Carrey fan…so without further ado…my list of the best Jim Carrey movies…and a few of his worst…
1. Dumb & Dumber - One, if not THE, best comedy of all-time. Big Gulps, eh? All right. Well, see you later! (One of the most random movie moments, but one of my favorites).

NOTE: The “Dumb and Dumber” soundtrack is one of my favorite movie soundtracks of all time. All-Time!
2. The Cable Guy - The first time I saw this movie, I hated it. I thought it wasn’t funny at all…but the more and more I caught the re-runs of it on TBS, the more it grew on me, and it’s absolutely hilarious.
3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas - For a movie directed somewhat at kids, this movie is hilarious. Jim Carrey is brilliant as the Grinch.
4. Ace Ventura 2 - A thousand times better than the first one. When he gets hit with spears in the leg…hilarious.

5. Liar Liar/The Yes Man - Both of these movies I thought were pretty much the same, but I really enjoyed both.
6. Man on the Moon - Andy Kaufmann would have been proud.
7. The Truman Show
Now for Jim Carrey’s Worst -
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - This sucked…sucked…sucked….and I worry about people when they say that they loved it. I defy you to explain the movie to me.
2. Fun With Dick & Jane - Ugh…with a side of yuck.
3. The Mask - The only redeeming part of this movie is the arrival of a new actress…named Cameron Diaz. Seriously…the movie wasted 3 minutes with a music video called “Cuban Pete” (and yes, I bought the single on cassette…and I was not pleased).
4. Me, Myself, & Irene - I really tried to like this movie…I even bought it…but evil Jim Carrey just doesn’t work…oh, and Renee Zellwegger ruins the whole thing.
5. The Majestic - Havent’ seen it…but I hear it’s not a comedy…a non-comedy with Jim Carrey? Boooooo.
The Angry Soccer Player -
What? She got a red card for this? I’m shocked. This soccer player is absolutely ridiculous.
What Football Season Ruins -
I love football season…there’s no better season…but football season absolutely ruins all hopes for Jennifer and I to see new movies. There’s like 7 movies that we want to see right now, but we just don’t have the time with all my football watching.
We could go on Saturday nights, but we don’t do that anymore…too many people are “Chatty Cathy’s” on Saturday night…also, too many underagers can’t handle their alcohol well, and ruin the movie going experience. Seriously, we can’t do movies on Friday or Saturday night. We usually find that the best movie time is 11:30 Sunday mornings…it’s cheaper, and it’s empty.
Maybe tonight though…we really want to go see “The Fourth Kind”. We still need to see “Paranormal Activity”, but it looks like that’ll be a rental.
They “Picked” the Right Governor -
Okay, so maybe the didn’t…but watch the kid on the right hand side….
Oh, Note to Spellers -
If you’re going to “lose”…spell it “l-o-s-e”. What’s with it with so many people spelling it “l-o-o-s-e”? You see it on Facebook all the time. It’s ridiculous. Learn to spell people.
NOTE: When you see misspellings like this…public ridicule is the only way to go. If you misspell a tough word…fine, you can let it go…but the word “lose”? PUBLIC RIDICULE!
I Weep For Mankind -
Like over 3 million people tuned in for the Kardashian wedding on Sunday night. The end is near…the end is near. I’m sure Colleen watched…now we must fight.
Bowling -
Once the standings come out for this week…Team Library Cafe may have already wrapped up First Session Champs! Holla! Actually, next week is the First Session Roll-Off…but with yet another impressive display last night, we may have already sealed it up) AWESOME! I’ll bring the camera next week for a picture of the First Session Champs…if the camera can contain so much AWESOMEness!
AWESOME is as AWESOME does!

Wow #15 is a… I really can’t say it on here. WOW!
I agree, the end is near. I am wondering if I should feel secluded since I didn’t even know their wedding was on TV, I just heard about the pre-nup a long time ago (Thx Colleen for Hollywood Trash). People, you don’t know them. Most people wouldn’t attend another person’s wedding they don’t actually know (unless attending as a ‘date’ or to simply crash) so why do you really care about this family? Unless you have an invitation mailed to your house, with your name on it, you should not witness it.
I’m still laughing about the Ewoks. I had to play it last night for Jake. After I play him funny video’s (Sneezing Panda & Insane Driver for instance) he usually just looks at me with a “seriously” look, but we watched this one twice, and laughed our butts off.
I’m still not sold on Cable Guy. I saw it in the theater when it first came out and it wasn’t the Jim Carey I had grown to love at that point. So its still low on my list.
I’m just plain old rude to and embarrassing to obnoxious people in the movies. Usually that one small group of tweens ruins it for the whole theater, everyone is thinking “shut up” but I will actually stand up and say as loud as possible how they need to shut their face. This usually will A) embarrass them enough to shut up, or B) embarrass them enough to leave the movie. I didn’t pay $25 for movie tickets and a large soda to listen to your commentary. I do like your 11:30 idea though, cheap AND quiet is good!

I have to vote for the first Ace Ventura movie, when Jim goes into the looney bin and pretends he’s a few cards short of a full deck it is just hilarious. (BLUE 42 I’M OPEN I’M OPEN) and then goes into half time show and smacks his head on the bench…. superb work Jim. I love him in ‘In living Color’ as Fire Marshall Bill (LET ME SHOW YOU SOMETHING). His facial features are just outstanding! My opinion of course but little surprised you didn’t even mention his stint on ‘In Living Color’. Any grammer errors here just deal with it because I’m not in composition class here. Have a great day!

Hey Nathan -
That’s the problem with working with Colleen…she knows when all this useless TV is on…and then I’m aware of it…and then some of them I’m drawn to and I have to watch…and then there’s the Kardashian wedding…where just that I know that it happened disturbs me.
The drunk Ewoks are hilarious. I think I would pay good $$ to see the Ewoks perform.
Give Cable Guy another try…I was the same way about seeing it in the theaters. I thought it was awful…absolutely awful. Then, after a few more viewings, it got funnier and funnier to me.
I need to become more rude (if that’s possible, ha ha). Especially at movies…I just don’t understand why people have to talk. Especially everyone who has to point out the twist in the movie…I hate hearing from another row, “Oh…it’s the same bird as in the first scene”. No kiddin’…we all got it. That’s what the whole “surprise” is…ugh. Note: There’s no movie that I’ve ever seen where the big “twist” is a bird….I didn’t want to spoil anything, ha ha.
I’m going to have to get crack-a-lackin’ on the custom shoes thing. I’m totally sold on them.
Thanks Nathan!

Oh, Nathan, this is trouble! Now I feel vindicated to let my inner “B” loose (note correct spelling Kurt) on all those annoying movie-goers. In the past I’ve always just stopped at “the Look” (which is pretty scary). Now that I know all the other quiet movie watchers are just as annoyed as I am & want me to stand up for them all… beware rude chatty movie-goers!
Kurt, I’m really sorry, but I walked out of Dumb & Dumber when I was in high school. One of the few movies I’ve ever walked out of. I just thought it was, well… Dumb. I’m not a big Jim Carrey fan, I guess.

Hi Julie,
I can’t believe you walked out on Dumb and Dumber! It’s comedy gold, gold I tells ya!
We honestly should all band together and teach the annoying movie-goers some manners!
Thanks Julie!

Hi Michele,
Fire Marshall Bill was AWESOME. There was another character that Jim Carrey did on “In Living Color” that I liked even more…I will post the video of that character tomorrow morning.
I have nothing against the first Ace Ventura movie…I just really liked the second one so much better. I have so many movies on video cassette that I need to transfer over to DVD/Blu-Ray.
Thank you Michele!
