Hi Sue,

I'll have to be on the look out for him next Monday. If he needs to know what team I'm on, we are known as the "2009 Champions"...well, okay, our team name is "Library Cafe", but we did win it all last year. This year has been tougher.

There are some games that you just really have it...and then there are those games that are just awful. Absolutely awful.

Now that I think of it, I wonder if I've placed bets on your husband before? When we get bored betting on each other, we start betting on players of other teams. I think I might have, ha ha.

Thanks Sue!

Hi Shari,

I'm so sorry to hear about Nemo. I'll be an absolute mess when our cats' times are up. Sammy is 9 1/2 and Molly and Lucy are about 8 1/2. Hopefully, we still have plenty of good years left with them. That's so sad about Noah as well...it's amazing how much cats can be like us.

Hopefully, Zakk and Noah can get to know each other quickly. When I introduced Sammy, it took a good month or so for everything to settle down. Now, we see Lucy and Sammy cuddling up together on the bed...Molly still slaps him in the head way too much, but sometimes he deserves it, ha ha!

We tried to get Sammy one of those water fountain/dispensers...but he hated it. He wouldn't go near it...we couldn't understand it...it's the exact same idea as the tub faucet...but for whatever reason, he still demanded the faucet. It's nice to have a bathroom buddy!

Thanks Shari!
Kurt

Zakk Wylde...he's fantastic...and you're right, they don't really fit in the "metal" category for the most part. It might be hard trying to get them on Star though. I'm still trying to push Pearl Jam through.

Hey Kurt - great bowling! LOL! I think my husband bowls in your league, you are at Val right? No one likes their team though, they are "too good". Do you know which team is his now? :-) And actually more people lose to the blind than you think - it is a lot of pressure to get your average sometimes!! Keep your chin up!

Hey Nathan,

It hurt to put Jewel on the Blog like that...I had the chance to meet Jewel, and she's very very pretty.

Exactly what I thought about the FedEx incident...$18 is a small price to pay to get away from the rednecks...I like that...the guy is definitely a redneck...oh, let me clarify...an idiot redneck. Maybe the envelope is made with a very expensive packaging. Ridiculous.

Don't worry Nathan, I have too many friends that are Nebraska fans (anything over 4 is too many, ha ha). It's you, Michelle, and Ry...I can't handle anymore...oh, and Henrietta...she's good people too! There it is...that's the 4. ha ha.

I have no idea how Molly gets in half the places she does...closed closets, dressers, cabinets, laundry hampers...it's ridiculous. She craves warmth apparently...and it's always at the expense of my newly washed and dried clothes. Everything I own has cat hair on it.

Thanks Nathan!

Love the videos, Producer Kurt! I am a HUGE cat lover, and those little fur-babies do the darnedest things, don't they? :) About your faucet-drinker, Sammy.... Have you ever tried this gadget that is kind of like a drinking fountain for cats? It continually circulates fresh water into the bowl, and cats can also drink the water as it's coming out of the spout thing. I've heard it works well for cats who won't drink out of a bowl or prefer running water, but I've never had to use it for our cats.

Sadly, our 7 year-old feline fur-baby, Nemo, passed away on October 8th. He had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (a type of heart disease) & had been taking medication for his condition from about the time he was a year old or so. We were told that most cats don't live very long with that disease, so we were lucky to have loved him for almost 7 years (we got him when he was 3 months old, right before Christmas 2002). He was the sweetest, most social cat with the best personality EVER!!!! He made an impression on everyone who met him. Noah, our other feline fur-baby, visibly grieved for a little over a week. Noah is almost 7 yrs. & had been with Nemo for all but the first month of his life...they were best buddies. We considered Nemo & Noah our babies, as we don't have any human kids. I didn't think I'd ever be able to get another cat after losing Nemo (he was such a special kitty), but every vet & cat behaviorist told us it was probably the best thing for Noah to get him another companion. So, the other day we got a little black kitten we named Zakk. We are still in the introduction phase & I'm SOOOO ready for Noah to just accept Zakk so we can let him out of his safe room for good. Zakk is the most affectionate, lovey-dovey cat ever...and his little motor never stops running...just a constant purr! Zakk is all ready to be friends with Noah, but Noah is our timid baby who is always hesitant about new things. We are just hoping & praying that Noah will be ready to make friends with him soon.

By the way, we named our new kitten Zakk after Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society -- you guys need to start playing some BLS...awesome, awesome stuff! I have NO idea why they are classified as metal because most of their songs are pretty mellow -- very appropriate for STAR! LOVE Zakk Wylde & BLS!!!

I'm with you on shipping being expensive. I have to order textbooks every 4-5 weeks, and tend to do quite a bit of shopping online as well. I hate paying for shipping. You think you found a good deal then you get smacked with enormous shipping charges. I have narrowed down my book buying and other shopping to sites that offer free shipping (or free shipping with a minimum order requirement). But $18 for an envelope... that should be illegal. I guess the good thing is you will be getting new tickets far away from the rednecks.

I will never admit I said this… but yes Nebraska fans are babies. I just wanted to slip that one in there.

How did the cat get in there? I used to have ferrets, and they used to do the same thing, but they would get in from under the dresser and climb up from the inside. Sneaky little critters. That is why I like my dog... she is always just chilling on her bed, never hiding in weird places.

I never realized how crooked Jewel’s teeth are! Still beautiful, just close your mouth when you smile.
