How ‘Bout Them Hawkeyes!

Seriously…AWESOME. What an amazing victory Saturday night…Ricky Stanzi…leading the Hawks on the game-winning drive was a thing of beauty. 8-0. AWESOME! That Hawkeye D is just too incredible.

Oh, I’ll say it…Ricky Stanzi is Tom Brady…ok, I’m half-kidding…but half me also is not!

Run Adam Robinson run, you crazy little waterbug!

AJ Edds and Pat Angerer on that goaline stand where unbelievable…and Broderick Binns, you have the longest arms in the Big 10. Well done.

NOTE: Even though I hated every yard of it…the Hook&Ladder play that the Spartans ran on their last drive was incredible. I think that’s only the third time that play has worked…ever…in the history of football.

Props also to the Cyclones and their great victory over the Huskers. Well done, and well deserved. 

Oh, did you see what I just did there Cyclone fan? I gave your team credit…how about some of your fans stop going on and on about how we as Hawkeye fans need to “tone it down”…we’re 8-0…it’s exciting. We Hawk fans are all very happy for your excellent season so far, how about spreading some love towards the Hawks as well…they’ve more than deserved it.

Anywhere in Des Moines on Sunday -

We went out to breakfast on Hy-Vee on Sunday morning…then to Target…and it was college football Sunday. I think everyone was wearing a sweatshirt of either the Hawks or the Clones. I think that was common anywhere in Des Moines on Sunday morning. Even the old folks at the Cracker Barrel were probably rockin’ some collegiate gear! It’s a good weekend to be an Iowan that’s for sure!

The Next Human Jack-O-Lantern -

Even though he’s one of my favorite actors of all-time, there’s no denying he’s go some jacked-up teeth (he creeps my wife out too).

1. Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon - Any song that encourages you to sing “A-hooooooo” is AWESOME. R.I.P Warren Zevon.

2. Nightmare on My Street - DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince - A quintessential 80s rap classic….note: look up the word “quintessential”, make sure it means what I think it means

3. The Theme to “Halloween” - The piano is creepy…but classic.

4. Thriller - Michael Jackson - It’s a great song, but I think it’s overrated…in my opinion, it’s Vincent Price that makes this song great.

5.  Dragula - Rob Zombie - From the Master of Halloween Rock

6. Bark at the Moon - Ozzy Osborne - He may not remember singing the song, but Ozzy howls.

7. Zombie -  Cranberries - It’s a stretch to include this in a Halloween list…but “Zombie” counts, right?

8. I’m Your BoogieMan - Rob Zombie (remake) - KC and the Sunshine Band’s version was good…Rob Zombie made it even more fun though.

9.  Living Dead Girl - Rob Zombie - Yet another Rob Zombie gem.

10. I Put a Spell on You - Nina Simone - Based on pure voice talent, she she should be higher on the list, but Rob Zombie is too tremendous.

NOTE: “Monster Mash” is usually on everyone’s list Halloween list…but let me tell ya…back in my intern days, I was out at Night Eyes for 3 straight nights, and I heard this song approximately 300 times during those evenings. I’ll be fine never hearing the song again.

My Wife’s Day of Pampering -

On Saturday, Jennifer and her friend Christi enjoyed a day of pampering (well, the half-day package) at Sahars. Jennifer returned home (just in time for the Iowa victory) with an incredibly smooth face, a relaxed body, and blue fingernails and toenails. She loved it…and I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s already planned a return trip without me knowing about it, ha ha. She is quite crafty.

Brad Garrett Commercial -

Brad Garrett is hilarious…and this commercial is AWESOME. The song he sings has been stuck in my head for the past day and a half…

My Halloween Costume from 2004 -

Roy (from Siegfried and Roy) had just been attacked by Montecor the Tiger…so I went as Roy…(Colleen went as Little Dutch Girl”…Ken went as “Ken”…very original).

Now there’s talks that he might star in an upcoming season of Survivor or Amazing Race. Seriously dude…go the hell away….and don’t leave a forwarding address.

No wonder why Jon leaves his shirt on as those Vegas pool parties he goes to…too sexy!

D+ Celebrities -

We were talking about this last week…sorry about the lack of outstanding stories in Hollywood Trash lately. It seems like every single story that comes out is about some D+ List celeb, or a washed up star, or a simple no-name.

Bethany Frankel? I don’t even know who that is…I don’t know any of the Real Housewives of any city. Ridiculous. Lindsay Lohan stories are boring…the Kardashians are awful…Letterman sleeps with his interns…Jon Gosselin is a douche…whatever. We need some big-time stories. C’mon celebs…do somethin’ crazy! Britney Spears, I’m looking in your general direction!

Bratwurst Omelette -

This is what I made myself for breakfast on Saturday…I think I felt an artery actually clog as I was eating it (Partly because I covered the omelette in Budweiser Hot Wing Sauce…oh, and some cheese…and had some Spicy & Sweet Chili Doritos on the side..try it, enjoy it, thank me later (if your survive)).

PF Changs -

We order out from “The Chang” at least once a month…sometimes as much as 4 times a month…and order is always the game…garlic noodles for Jennifer…Sichuan from the Sea Shrimp for me…and a piece of the “Great Wall of Chocolate”. Sometimes we’ll add Crab Wontons…Sichuan from the Sea Shrimp is crazy good.
